Wowzers….what a wild and crazy holiday time it has been for us! Most of which has been a bit planned at the last minute we have been on the road driving all over the place both for work as well as spending time with our increasingly spread out family. We’ve had weddings, family sessions, holiday parties and even our own ugly sweater photobooth party but this past weekend takes the cake! Last Friday we drove out to El Centro for Evelyn & Chris’ wedding (coming to the blog very soon), we hit the road at 10am and got back to our house at midnight then peeled ourselves out of bed to get right back in the car and head to good ol’ Las Vegas to spend two nights with Nicole’s family.
We had a blast in Las Vegas spending time with family and extended family all under the same roof…there was family from Georgia, Virginia, and other California travelers all visiting so it was important for us to spend time with everyone who we don’t get to see much of these days. I am pretty sure though of all of the family there the newest addition – Kimberly aka Kimmy Bear stole the show and was the life of the weekend. Of course we couldn’t help ooooo and aaaaahhhh and take lots of awesome fun photos of little mrs. sunshine herself. Other than just hanging out we managed to visit Red Rock Canyon to check out the gorgeous scenery and take some fun photos of each of us and the landscapes and also I was able to get into the Social Distortion show at House of Blues Mandalay Bay on Saturday night. I have seen Social Distortion about 10 times now as they are one of my favorite bands so it was awesome to be able to see them in Las Vegas…its been about 5 years since I’ve last seen them and I will admit it was a awesome show.
As always, all good things come to an end and at 7am on Christmas Eve morning we said our goodbyes and hit the road once more, this time back home where we’d spend Christmas Eve and morning with my parents.
Have we been completely exhausted? Yes. Was it all worth it? Yes. Spending time with family is so important…we had a great Christmas and we hope you all did as well. I still can’t believe 2012 is about over….craaaaazy….but I am so excited for 2013 and really think it will be our best year yet 😉
I will now leave you with perhaps on of the cutest photos ever… and no I am not biased at all!
These two are hilarious together… our little Chloe on the left.
Nicole, the kids, and the doggies doing a intense coloring session.
Hard to pick favorites, but this one is up there!
