Nicole and I were fortunate to get connected to Xiaomei & Dave though Dave’s best man & brother George – our very good friend. As soon as I met Dave the first time I already had envisioned exactly what the day was going to look like, and I was pretty much spot on ;). It was a perfect mix of formality and informality and Chinese traditions and American traditions…they intertwined it all to perfection and all in all the reception was the party that I know they were looking for. We all are familiar with American wedding traditions but some of the Chinese traditions that we thought were pretty neat was the newlyweds went around table to table where each table would “cheers” them — that’s a lot of cheers, a good way to get the party started! ha. Another thing I noticed was the lovely bride had two dresses, an “American” white dress and a gorgeous red reception dress too. But yes, lots of cheers, lots of toasts, lots of food and lots of laughter and love. Leading the night was Dave from Bill Calhoun Mobile Music did a great job as always keeping the party going up till the end.
