I spent yesterday afternoon with Leah & Lance to take their engagement photos. Leah and Lance, just like myself and Nicole met at Sea World where we all worked at one point in our lives 🙂 Sea World is no more for either of them these days…Lance is a California Highway Patrol Officer while Leah works as a real estate agent – if you are in the market for a home, she is your gal!!!
We were lucky and despite the look of the weather in the morning, the sun was out and it was a perfect day to walk around Mission Trails Regional Park before making our way due west to Pacific Beach, hoping of course to catch the sunset. Despite the large cloud-bank at the beach there were gorgeous streaks of orange periodically beaming through the clouds which made for some pretty dramatic backgrounds!
Here are a handful of my favorites from yesterday’s session…enjoy!
I think this one below is my favorite!
Glad this idea came to me right as we were about to leave Mission Trails…love the birds-eye view perspective.
For all the beachy shots I wanted to alternate between using flash and simply cranking the ISO and using natural light only. I like the variety it gave, the natural light shots have such a soft, timeless and romantic feel to them like the photo below.
But then of course we wouldn’t get a true feel for the dramatic sunset without doing some photos with fill flash….WOWZA! Look at that sky!
